The Sound of a Brand Starts Here

Radio imaging is more than sound design; it's audio identity. In this project, I produced a series of high-impact imaging pieces for SMC Radio that blend vocal performance, music beds, transitions, and branding cues. These deliver the signature tone and pacing that shape how a station feels, whether you're tuning in during rush hour or vibing late at night. Every beat, every voiceover, every drop was crafted to energize and define the station’s presence.

The Challenge

Build a compelling sonic identity for SMC Radio that captures the energy of a student-run station while remaining professional, genre-fluid, and listener-focused.

Creative Approach

I studied successful commercial radio stations and mapped out a structure for hooks, station IDs, and transitions. I layered vocal effects, music beds, and atmospheric sounds to create seamless branding spots. Every piece was guided by rhythm, genre relevance, and emotional tone.

Execution

Using Adobe Audition, I recorded, edited, and mixed a 5-part imaging suite that includes call letters, taglines, music transitions, and tonal IDs. I matched sonic branding elements to different dayparts and show styles, ensuring variety without losing brand cohesion. Each file was delivered broadcast-ready, complete with EQ, compression, and normalization for FM/web streaming.
